VCU 4 individual electric motors, Traction, Torque Vectoring, Dynamics

Scope & objective

Research Development of 4WD and Torque Vectoring controls software for an off-road segment EV vehicle, with 4 electric motors to be controlled separately. Development included proactive and reactive stability and traction control software.

Why is a company as T-engineering qualified/the best fit for a project like this?

T-Engineering have engineers with broad experience within the chassis controls development and the company also have a long experience of developing Controls software for many other domains within the automotive industry.

T-Engineering have developed controls software for EMS, VCU, Body, EPS for suppliers and OEM’s from 2012. With the experience and our SW development process together with a library of developed SW components and platforms, we can rapidly have a first SW running on hardware to support research projects or early phases of a project.

What does the future hold in this area at T-engineering?

Vehicle stability controls to ensure driver safety as well as good driver handling and good driver comfort is becoming more and more important along with that new technology and new controls strategies is being enabled by electrical platforms and hybrid platforms. The high voltage electrical motors enable fast and direct control of torque to each wheel in 4WD platforms.

T-Engineering’s knowledge within the torque chain together with experience within Hybrid and EV vehicles and Chassis Controls makes us a great partner to work with in any project related to these areas.
